Flying cross country with my fussy 5 month old? HELP.

Fussy is an understatement. She is a screamer. Wonderful baby 98% of the time, but she has bouts of inconsolable screaming in new situations from time to time. What is the tsa screening process like for a baby? How can I make this whole day as painless as possible?
