We believe that parents, when united, have the power to improve their own children’s education and the entire education system. Our system of public education is at a crossroads. Three out of ten of our children will not graduate from Washington high schools. And if we fail our children, we are failing our future. The Parents Union is a new nonprofit organization committed to empowering parents and communities by providing support, resources and the power of a movement, so that every child graduates with the skills to achieve their dreams. We want to work with all people of goodwill to achieve these goals in every school throughout our state.

We will achieve our goals through informing, empowering and uniting a diverse body of parents and families into a broad, persistent movement that will provide the political will to pass much needed legislation at the state level; to work to improve the educations system at the school district level; and to help make a direct impact at the school, classroom and individual student level. And, finally, we provide a voice of parents regarding specific policy initiatives. I hope you will join me and support The Parents Union. Together we have the power to bring about urgently needed changes in our classrooms and schools, in our school districts and in Olympia.
